DESIGN PORTFOLIO
Hello, my name is Alex
I have had a lifelong passion for both technology and the arts. From a young age, I was drawn to working with technology and later studied fine arts in college before switching to graphic design, allowing me to blend both interests. My role at Waverley Country Club has been the ideal way to incorporate my love of technology, creativity and the game of golf. I get to be immersed in a sport I've enjoyed since childhood while using my skills in IT and design daily. The opportunity to work in a field and environment I'm passionate about, surrounded by technology and creativity, has truly allowed me to find my calling.
My Story
For the past four years, I have served as the Communications and Technology Manager at the historic Waverley Country Club in Portland, Oregon. In this multifaceted role, I oversee all communications, design marketing materials and graphics for events, publish the monthly newsletter, manage the website, mobile app, and photograph events. Key responsibilities include directing communications, creating graphics for tournaments, food and beverage promotions, digital signage, sourcing newsletter content, ensuring the website and app are updated, and capturing photos to visually showcase the club. My diverse skills in communications, design, photography and technology have enabled me to support the club's operations and enhance member experiences over the last four years.

In addition to communications, I serve as the onsite IT support for the club, managing all technology including computers, printers, point of sale systems, tablets, phones and more. I provide technical support to club members for their various devices. My extensive background of over 15 years in technology roles has equipped me for this position. Prior to Waverley, I worked as a mobile technician for Apple for six years. Before that, I was the Lead Technician at Circuit City for four years. My combined experience in both corporate and customer-facing tech support enables me to effectively handle the club's IT needs and assist members with any technology issues.
